Until a baby is a year old, he/she should be drinking breast milk, formula, or a combination of both. After a year old, most babies can be switched to drinking whole cow's milk. Many babies will continue to breast feed after a year old and some until they are 2-3 years old or older, although, in the United States this isn't as common as in some other countries. Generally, if a baby is going to be drinking cow's milk, whole milk is recommended until some time between 18-24 months. The fat content in the whole milk is beneficial to a baby's growth and development. After 18-24 months, toddlers can drink 2% or even skim milk just fine. No baby, toddler, child, or adult should be drinking juice full-time. Even 100% juice has a very high sugar content despite it being all-natural with no sugar added. 4-6 ounces of juice per day is generally suggested. There are people and some studies that suggest that no one needs to ever drink cow's milk, but it is much more main-stream accepted that cow's milk is a good, healthy choice for all people to drink because it is a good source of calcium, Vitamin A, Vitamin D, and protein. There are other food sources to get these important things from and anyone who doesn't like cow's milk, has an allergy, or is vegan can live quite healthy without drinking cow's milk. Whole cow's milk and water are good drink choices for babies over age 1. Juice in moderation is OK, but there are better choices to get Vitamin C from.

This is a tough question to answer. Formula can usually be stopped at 12 months, though if baby is a poor eater of solids, it can be beneficial to continue it longer. Breastmilk remains a good, beneficial food for as long as mother and baby choose to continue. (Contrary to what another poster said, there is nothing 'sick' about nursing at 2-4 years of age.) However, after a year or so, baby is usually eating quite a few solids (and can usually drink other types of milk), so the importance of breastmilk becomes less.

Actually they should not stop milk all together, and should not drink just juice. it is recommended that Babies are either Breastfed or given formula until age 12months. Then given hole milk to replace the formula or breast milk, they need the fat in milk for brain development until at least age 3. Juice only would be a bad diet, but giving them milk , juice and water throughout the day is great.

If you want to wean your baby you should wait until a year. But juice shouldn't be the sole fluid that you give them after that. They should receive cows milk if they're not receiving human breast milk. The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding for a minimum of 2 years (with supplemental solid foods after 6 months).

They stop "needing" breast milk at one year of age, but research shows it is okay to continue after this. At no time should a child be off milk and onto juice. After one year of age they should have whole milk, or whole milk and breastmilk. Juice should only be offered once or twice a day (4 ounces per day total)

Babies need full-fat milk for at least the first two years of life.
If they need a substitute for human milk in the first year, it should be infant formula, and in the second year and after, it can be cow, goat or soy milk.
Humans never need juice. In our household, it's a treat, but not a usual beverage.

babies should stop having breast milk at age of 2.. but the parent should reduce the amount of breast milk they have before they stop it.. like if it is 3 times a day after a while let it be 2 then 1 at bedtime (it will take a little more time that last one)
juice wouldn't be enough they'll need cow milk besides solid food

Any age you decide. They say that you can breastfeed up to 4 years of age.. they recommend 2 years, but I think the average is 6 months to a year. But any age you decide it's time to completely ween your baby is up to you.
