I love to sing, and act. How can I become a famous actress other than just getting an agent? Are there any good acting weekend or summer camps in Florida that teach you how to act and might even get my career started? Thanx everyone!

If you are wanting to act for fame, you are in for a rude shock.
An agent is not what makes someone famous. You do not start as an actor with an agent, you wind up with an agent when you have earned one by your experience and training and personality. Summer camps do not teach you to act and neither do classes. Only being in plays teaches you to act. Classes teach you things to try when you are acting or they teach you about acting. Acting is the most difficult of all professions, it is easier to become an astronaut than an actor. And, oh yeah, your parents have to consent to anything professinal that you do until you are 18.

1. Do school plays, community theatre, sing in choir, take acting classes at school, etc.

2. A year or so after that, after building a reputable name in the community, do local print work or commercials.

3. Once you have commercials or print work circulating, build up a resume, and get some good pictures of you (headshots are good, but not a necessity at this point), and send them out to local talent agencies.

4. In 4-6 if the agency is interested, they will contact you, go in for your meeting/audition, hopefully you will then be signed.

5. Then you can do bigger things like regional/national commercials & print work, and possibly small roles in film or television.

6. Build yourself up doing work like this, until you get bigger roles in more high profile projects.

7. Once you have a name in the business, you should be able to switch agencies to one of the bigger ones like CAA, William Morris, Abrams Artist, etc.

8. Work on major motion pictures and television series, and Ta-Da! You're a star.

As for acting camps, ask your school's drama teacher/choir director if they know anywhere good.

Good luck!

If you audition for a commercial, that should get you started, cuz most tv shows take you only if you are experienced. Then you can start auditioning for Disney Channel or Something.
