And please don't tell me which artist are mainstream cause I know which ones are. I just want to know why they are considered mainstream.

Most people think that mainstream sucks. Are Common and Lupe Fiasco considered mainstream? And if so are they just exceptions

lupe and common are mainstream, also mainstream means that ur out there, every 1 knows ur name, radio's from around the world play ur songs

When an artists sells out..
This is when they change their style, lyrics, ppl they affiliate w/, etc
No i really dont think common is mainstream.. Alot of people dont kno him, or just dont bother to listen..
Mainstream= A hot single and maybe a follow up song, wack cd
Real= HOT cd, good follow up cd, stay in the game even if they arent recognized
