Ladies, I like women who wear flowing skirts, smell nice, and don't believe that doing cooking and cleaning is an insult to their gender.
Are there women like this or am I a dinosaur who needs to catch up to the times?
If I am dinosaurish, why do women view doing these things as bad, when I would be truly grateful to a women who did this
for me?
Thanks for your feedback.

I don't mean that I can't do it. My question pertains to the many women I've met who seem to think if I ask them to do this I am being a chauvanist even though, be honest, women are taught as little girls to do this stuff (a lot of the time) and little boys aren't taught to do so.

Also, the skirt thing is only occasionally, not every day. Sorry for the confusion on this subject.

Nope...I don't think you are a dinosaur. But I do think that you are looking for a more traditional woman. (Thats not a slag against those women, or the men who want them by the way...) What I think you need to realize is that if you want a woman like this, you are probably also going to be supporting her while she stays at home. Again, not a bad thing, if its what you both want.
In fact, I don't think it is wrong for a man to want a woman to wear flowing skirts or smell nice....its a very feminine thing. And most of us like that for ourselves. The cooking and cleaning thing might get some ticked off...but if there's a trade off for the woman, I don't see the problem...

"My question pertains to the many women I've met who seem to think if I ask them to do this I am being a chauvanist"
You instruct people on what to wear?
You order people to cook and clean for you?
And then you are surprised when it's taken as an insult - which it is - and they drop you?
Du-uh...
This patten will continue and worsen as you get older; grownups just don't put up with BS like this. Take the modern-day version of a Home Economics course at your local community college. Alternatively, I suggest you HIRE STAFF.

Home cooking is better than processed food. I'm good with that. Flowing skirts allow for more movement. No problem there. Being clean and smelling nice is good hygiene. We're good there too. None of these things ever stopped me from getting an education; if anything, they taught me the discipline I needed to get through college.
No, you're not a dinosaur. You've pretty much just described me.

You know that since you're a guy you probably have a lot of gals being mean? I mean, If I had asked this question, they would have gladly answered positively on the dress issue.
I LOVE LONG FLOWING DRESSES! I love to cook and clean. It makes me feel good. I like taking care of little kids and feeling maternal. I love being a girl!
You are not a dinosaur! LOL! There are still girls out there who stay true to their gender! To me the kitchen is a woman's arena. The guys can call the living room theirs.
And of course I'd be accused of being a female chauvanist (if that's how you spell it).

Well....Im thinking youre a very traditional old-fashioned male that had better not be dating an independent modern self-sufficient type. You may be someone who wants it all....Im not sure. I really like expressing my feminity, but not always up to the effort after working a 10 hour day....naw, i just feel like a hot bath, some chinese take out and my man giving me a massage! Of course I also make my own money and pay all of my own bills....find a woman who does not want to work outside the home for starters and damn I hope you have a very good income!

In other words, you like women who resemble the picture of a "typically" stereotyped woman---of course, they are around and of course there are those who enjoy being in their own skin being and doing what you just mentioned. I'm not sure about the "flowing" skirt...I prefer dresses tho'. What's all this talk about an independent, modern, intelligent woman not enjoying to cook or clean??? Martha Stewart is smart and wealthy and obviously she doesn't mind, why should everybody else?

If my guy liked flowing skirts, I'd be happy to wear them some of the time (especially in the summer when I can wear them with sandals so I don't have to wear pantyhose) I would also be happy to smell nice; my favorite cologne is Happy Heart by Clinique.
I would be happy to cook almost every every night, and order delivery the rest of the time. However - he MUST do his share of cleaning up. If he didn't learn how to as a boy, he could learn.
I do consider myself a feminist. Take my answer however you like.

Well, the problem is not doing these things...especially if a woman chooses to be a housewife and has children. You see, children need to be taken care of and many women who do stay home take pride in keeping their homes clean and fresh and pleasing their husbands. But men don't need their butts wiped, their food cooked or their laundry done. They are quite capable of doing this on their own. I cook and clean for my man and do special things for him on a regular basis and I enjoy it. But, to have someone expect this after I have been working all day...Ok, dude go ahead and hold your breath! My man cooks, cleans and does the laundry. I am the breadwinner in our household and he is going back to school. We are a team and that is why our relationship works. Don't you think that what you are looking for creates a one sided relationship...with one person catering to the other's every want and need? These days most families need two incomes to survive...and also many women are going to school and have careers. It become tiresome for a woman to have a man around who expects to be taken care of all the time without reciprocating. To me, this trait in a man is also not very attractive at all. It's like having a teenager at home which doesn't turn me on. How about you other ladies???.

You are a dinosaur if I am because I like men to open the doors for me and even pay for dinner part of the time. Maybe you are looking in the wrong area.
I prefer sharing the work load because it sucks to work all day to come home to cook and clean for someone who is sitting on the couch asking for a beer. It's not about insulting me, it's about putting in the same effort because if I can do it all alone then I might as well be alone.
Hope that answers it

Every time I hear someone say "This is the 21st century" or "This is 2007" I feel like rolling up a newspaper and smacking them upside the head.
I don't care what year it is. Newer isn't always better, and what worked in the past will still work in the future.
I know of women who wear long skirts and everything. They're few and far between but they're out there.
