I purchased this car in November of 2004. It currently has about 18000 miles on it. I have had know brake service done on it but I now here grinding, can you help me out on choosing a place to get the brakes done. Should I ask them just to look at the front brakes? I don't want to go to the dealership, as they over charge too much. Thanks all.

You are in a position to buy your own excellent parts and have a new car dealer do the work. First, call (any) new car dealer in your area and see if they'll allow you to carry in your own parts. I would strongly suggest you order your parts on line from autopartswarehouise.com. They have premium choices of brake rotors and pads that will make your head spin. EBC make dimpled and slotted rotors as well as Green Stuff organic as well as Ultimax pads. If that does not suit you there are many other choices.
Remember this: Brake shops today use off-shore brake rotors which rust, warp and last 2 yrs. at best. What frosts me is, they charge customers premium American, Canadian, and British rotor prices when in fact your getting $20.00 rotors from China or Taiwan. If you decide to shop elsewhere for pads walk straight past metallic and semi-metallic pads as they chew up rotors in no time. Organic pads will never damage rotors and are by far the cleanest. Ceramic pads would be a close second choice.
The whole job is super simple.

i',m sure there is a muffler brake shop in your area....car x, midas,....ect.....and there a many smaller chain shops that are very good......most of them will offer a "free brake inspection"....have all 4 wheels checked...and the dealer is always more expensive....most dealers charge about $35.00 labor just to inspect.....

Dealership are no more expensive than independents. That is a misconception that people spread.
