That error means that you are not connected from the Ethernet port on the computer to the modem. If you are using wireless, it is immaterial and you can disable the wired connection so that you do not get the error message (right-click on connection and click on disable). If you are only hard-wired, try changing that one cable.

I kept getting that message on my laptop when I was trying to install my wireless router. Every-time I took the Ethernet cable out that came up. Silly me didn't realise there is a teeny tiny switch on the front which you have to enable. Once I did the message stopped showing. Are you doing the same thing?

Your on the spot adaptor (oftentimes equipped-in to the workstation) could have been switched off so verify that it relatively is on. you could could desire to establish your on the spot connection lower back. there is in all danger a password you could desire to head into, probably your Dad is conscious the password in spite of if your do no longer. it relatively is confusing to be greater specific without understanding greater approximately your specific set-up. ok, now you have given greater info i provides greater help. If the different desktops can get right of entry to the internet then the router is working. and you have an "astounding" on the spot connection on your router. 2 obtrusive possibilities a million) Open up information superhighway Explorer and decide equipment - information superhighway thoughts. a clean window will open. click the Connections tab and determine that the by no skill Dial a Connection determination is chosen. If no longer, go with it and then close the window. 2) If that would not paintings then a firewall must be blockading your connection. in case you have an information superhighway risk-free practices application working, attempt to alter the settings to quickly turn off the firewall. If that works and you will get right of entry to the internet, you could desire to alter your firewall settings so it relatively is on yet would not block your get right of entry to. If neither of those undemanding fixes works, you could could desire to seek for help from an authority who can flow at your domicile of abode.
