I know this isn't always the most popular choice, but you can usually get just as good of an education at the local community and state colleges as you would at the prestigious private universities. If you go this route, you usually don't have to worry about the competitiveness just to be admitted and you'll save a significant amount of money.

Well you should risk going far away. Because you want a good education. Try to find the school with the highest standards and work for it. But calm down, I'm sure there are many colledges out there for you.

Ok I think you should ask your school guidence counsler. Well thats what I would do. You could try Uconn. Try searching online. Also I found this college a little north of connecticut check it our heres the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connecticut_College

I go to Trinity in Hartford, and we have a great Arts program. Given our community involvement, there are also great educational opportunities where you could get great experience in the two fields.
