I was beat as a child by my step-mother for years because she resented the fact that I was close to my dad. I am an adult now. However, my step-mother then murdered my father with arsenic poisoning after I became an adult and had a child. My step-mother has never been charged with any crime. She got away with abusing a child and then murdering a man. She stole money from my father. She even forged his signature on a loan---the day he died for $25,000. My dad was laying in a hospital bed in a comatose state the day she forged his signature. My father has been dead almost 17 years.

Same way the cowboys did it... citizen posse/lynch mob, or gunfight in the street.

You said "no conviction YET" -- has the person been charged? arraigned? has a trial been scheduled?

Just because the matter isn't resolved in days doesn't mean the justice system isn't doing the best it can. But if there are 100 other child abuse cases already pending, this one has to wait its turn.
