Not too long ago Notre dames football coach George O leary had to step down from his head coach position after admitting he had falsified the academic and athletic credentials listed on his resume

Would you have fired him for his resume misrepresentation why or why not?

Yes, he should have definately been fired for his deception. It is not always the fact that he deceived otherws by lying about his creditials, its about his ethics and his morals in general. Someone who would lie like that and misrepresent himself would lie about other things too and could cause damage to the team and the school as a whole. He is in a high profile position which along with it brings a public eye to the school and program he is working for. You need to have someone with good morals and ethics in this position as you would not want someone out there who could destroy your hard earned reputation as quickly as he falsified the credentials he did not have. Besides, he is also in a position of leadership, what kind of example does he set to the players and the students of that school?

yes--because no matter how good he may be as a coach, if it got out about the lies and he was NOT fired, it would send a message to everyone else that LIEING is acceptable, which it NEVER is.

Yes - Falsification is falsification, especially in a high profile position that he had and an academic profession.
