It's not quite straight, but Orion's Belt is 3 fairly prominent stars... You may also be looking at Draco, which winds across 1/2 the sky.

The stars are called Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka, and yes, they form Orion's belt. The other major stars in Orion are Betelgeuse, Meissa, Bellatrix, and Rigel.

Orions belt.
"ζ Ori (Alnitak), ε Ori (Alnilam) and δ Ori (Mintaka) make up the asterism known as Orion's Belt: three bright stars in a row; from these alone one can recognize Orion"

If you're referring to Orion's Belt, the names of the three stars in it are: Zeta Orionis (or "Alnitak"), Delta Orionis (or "Mintaka"), and Epsilon Orionis (or "Alnilam", the middle star in the belt).
