marsh-mallow, Althaea officinalis

It is hardy to zone 3 and is not frost tender. It is in flower from July to September, and the seeds ripen from August to October. The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by Bees. The plant is self-fertile.

The plant prefers light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. The plant prefers acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils and can grow in saline soil. It cannot grow in the shade. It requires dry or moist soil.

Surely you aren't looking for a marshmellow tree or vine!

You do mean a manufacturing plant. Right?

Sorry, can'y help, but just thought I'd clarify that.
