If you had never missed a single day of work they'd still have a right to fire you. They can fire you because they don't like the color of your eyes. Sounds to me like this is the excuse they're using to get rid of the dead weight. If you're a conscientious worker you'll probably be fine....

If they wanted to fire you they can make something up. If you signed a contract saying you can be late once a month and they tried to fire you for that then you can say it's in the contract. Don't think you have to worry. They make rules like this for those that have a problem with it and generalize it so they don't look like they are harassing just one person.

"Will I get fired?" - Hard to say. It's up to them. If you were truthful that you called out once every 3 months most likely not.

"do they have the right to fire me?" - Yes. You are an at will employee.

It depends on what state you live in.

If it is a "Right to Work" state, the worker has almost no rights in the workplace and can be fired for any reason -- even for no reason.

I know that is odd, considering the name of the Act.

Otherwise, they can't fire you without "just cause." Calling in sick once every three months is not just-cause.

See link below to see if your state is a Right-to-Work state.

In the absence of a union or an employment contract you are considered employed at will...which means you can be fired or you can quit at any time for any reason.

Depends on where you live, but you can usually get fired for no reason as long as it isn't for race, religion, etc.

You don't have a right to work, but they do have a right to fire.

They'd have the right to terminate you, even if you fed 5000 people with two loaves of bread and walked on water.
