I don't think there is a brooklandville... Maybe.. Broadheadsville? Or Brookdale as in Caesars Brookdale Resort. This area is becoming very conjested so I don't know what exactly could be a good area because I think it's all destroyed. Mount Airy Casino & Luxury Resort (Swiftwater) just opened its doors yesterday. It will open their rooms on the 15th. The place is stunning so if you want to give it a go. It will probably be expensive, but worth it. Since it is just opening, the service will be very friendly. Great Wolf Lodge (Scotrun) is very nice and so is the historic Skytop Lodge (Skytop, PA)

There's no Brooklandville here. FYI: I was born here and except for the past 6 years when I was in VT, I've lived here all my life. Almost all of the Pocono resorts are cheesy.

Great Wolf is overrun with screaming kids and dumb-a-s-s parents from NYC and Jersey. All of the Caesars resorts are ghetto. I've had people I work with tell me about the amount of problems at the Caesars places. They don't clean the rooms well, laundry never gets done, the food sucks, and the staff is a bunch of losers for the most part. Tamiment (sp?) if it is still open is DIRTY and run down. We looked at the place for our wedding and couldn't wait to get away from the manager in his cheesy Members Only jacket and open shirt with gold chains. Fernwood...also ghetto. Shawnee...crowded. Camelback...good except for the icy ski slopes. Jack Frost/Big Boulder...better, but crowded, rental properties are nice and mostly clean. Split Rock...probably the best in the central Poconos. Good Staff, clean, good locaton too. Woodloch Pines...good, but very white-bread, Skytop...more expensive than Woodloch Pines but nicer too. Mt. Airy casino just opened this week too. I give it a month before it goes ghetto....however it is owned by a fairly "respectable" Italian family, so it may stay cleaner for a while longer than that.

I drove down to Stroudsburg last week from Lake Wallenpaupack. I must have counted at least 6 resorts along the way that all looked run down. Take a good look at the brochures. If the people are skiing in neon colored ski jackets and the women in the pix are wearing bikinis that look like they are from the 1980s...stay away from that resort.

There are good places, you'll pay through the nose, but you can find them.
