How much longer will it be until purdue can go up against the best like ohio state? how much longer until another drew brees comes along at purdue. I remeber in 2000 when we beat ohio state and brees threw a 60 yard bomb to beat em. How long until that happens again? When will be be one of the best again?

Two words for you. Admission standards. Seriously, the main problem with Purdue is Indiana isn't really a hotbed for HS football, and they have to compete with ND, Michigan, OSU, and Penn State,(along with other big ten schools) for the top Ohio and Pennsylvania talent. There is only so much to go around. Purdue always plays OSU tough, this year was the only exception I can think of in recent memory. Purdue has as good of a coach as they can expect(very underrated in my opinion) and will compete for a big ten title a couple years from now. They lose their QB next year, and that will hurt.

i just think with the big name schools playing in the big ten, right now and in the near future there will be a great deal of difficulty for purdue, and the offense they run they need a drew brees or a kyle orton to come along and be a leader

i think the problem for purdue is talent, and again the competition they face in recruiting against the likes of michigan and ohio state...the best way for them to acquire better talent, i think, would be to fire joe tiller and go out and hire a top-notch recruiter to coach...tiller has been a serviceable coach, but clearly his act is growing thin as he has failed to re-establish purdue's elite status after brees' days were done

It will be difficult to stay up there consistently like OSU and Michigan. Sorry to say, you might have to rely on the fluke win every five or six years. Maybe you can get some football traditions instead of relying on so many band traditions.
