It is a online payment system. I am in Jamaica too and I use it to make payments for my Ebay and other online purchases.

I also use PAYPAL to accept payments from persons who purchase things from me online.

You need to register with them and enter your credit card details with them, after that it is easy to make a payment for an online purchase eg. Ebay

If you receive payment from persons via paypal, you will have to initiate a withdrawal and they will sen you a cheque, to your registered address. In my case, to me in Jamaica, the amount is in US$. just lodge it to your bank account. I lodged it to my BNS account and the funds are available within 3 days.

in addition, you can withdraw the funds to your US-based account, the funds will be credit within 3 days.
