no offense but there is no way you almost died from smoking weed. weed cannot kill you, dear. i don't really even consider it a drug, and theres no reason for it to be illegal, it's harmless.
but you did the right thing by standing your ground and not doing something you don't want to do just because "everyone is doing it"

yes. my 20-year-old cousin turned to drug-dealing as a way to make money. He died last night in jail. The ironic part is that he didn't even die from the drugs. While he was in jail, he was doing some work and mopping. He passed out from a standing position, hit his head pretty hard. He died early this morning possibly from an aneurism due to the head trauma. He was just making plans to go on some programs to start his life out right again, he also started to take God into his heart again, and he had a wife and child. Think about it. His choices were wrong, but even when he tried to right the wrong, the sequence of events led him to where he is now. So, even though you may have problems with being her friend now, you could possibly save her life by your good example. I hope she begins to think like you soon. You got a good head on your shoulders!

I am so proud of you for making the right decision and saying, "No." A lot of kids these days have a tendency to give into peer pressure, but you are obviously a strong person if you are able to rise above the pack. You are someone who has experienced weed and clearly learned a lesson from your mistake. Good job! I wish there were more kids like you out there! :)

Hi im 15 and i smoke weed daily. I started smoking about a year ago and i wasnt pressured into it he asked me casaully and without a second thought i tried it. i was always curious so i just went with the flow. Marijuana often will have negative or no effects on first use but if you ever want to try it again make sure your comfortable with it. Some people just arent meant to do drugs.

OH MY GOD!! THERE IS A TEENAGER WHO DOESN'T FOLLOW THE PACK!! I'm very proud of you. I don't frown upon people who smoke weed. My grandmother uses it for medicinal purposes so I have seen the positive results of the drug. I think that you did the right thing. If you aren't comfortable with that situation then don't give in to peer pressure. Make your own path and I promise you will be grateful that you did. Your friend will get over being mad at you. You obviously have a history together so she should love you for who you are not what you do. Good luck honey and keep your head up!

Emma you certainly have nothing to be ashamed of by refusing to smoke drugs with your friend. But if she is a true friend she will respect your decision and not judge you just because you aren't following the crowd and doing as everyone else appears to be doing. Not all kids do smoke drugs and when people say that everyone else is, it just means everyone that they know. Be proud of your decision and do not allow others to try and influence you into going against your morals,

Well if you choose to do drugs it should be because YOU want to and not because everyone else is doing it, the same goes for drinking alcohol. This is just as harmful as taking ecstacy but people seem to forget about this.
You def did the right thing, so many kids are pressurised into doing stuff they arent comfortble with these days and if they dont they are seen as wimps, or are uncool. at the end of the day it is still your body and only you should be able to decide what goes into it. Well done for standing up for yourself !!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The excuse "everyone is doing it" just means - I want to, and feel the need to get some (false) justification. I also want you to participate so you won`t tell on me".
1) Not "everyone is doing it".
2) YOU decide if you want to - not someone else.
If she is mad at you for this - she isn`t a friend, i`m afraid.

You most certainly did do the right thing. I'm a recovering addict and I been battling this addiction for 15 years. My life was miserable, once you start it is really hard to stop. Be proud of yourself peer pressure is hard to turn down, and you did congratulations.
