yeah, you can swim under water with your eyes open. If you are in a pool with a high level of cleaning stuff, then it might hurt. I would suggest getting googles though, because they will help you see clearly underwater. And your eyes will not hurt in the morning or if you go under water too long with you eyes open!

Yes, I can in a swimming pool, but after about 15 minutes it starts to hurt. It's the chlorine I guess. Have never tried it in the sea, but I imagine it would hurt.

once you're in air and a drop of water get into your eye , it burns , yet once you swim you're all in a water ecosystem , so which you will open your eyes and look , not something occurs . for me , i open my eyes interior the swimming pool water , and that i'm able to make certain there , by way of fact that's organic ... yet i cant open my eyes interior the sea (or ocean) by way of fact all i see is green or blue , and if i'm in a very deep water i see a very deep blue , and it scare me by way of fact i remember then each horror action picture approximately monsters from the sea , so i want to close my eyes down then :)

Yes it hurts. Remember swimming pools have CHLORINE in them. There's a reason your eyes turn red after you go under. And even worse the ocean has SALT in it. You defiantely don't want to open your eyes in that.

I used to when I was younger, and it didn't hurt unless I was in a chlorinated pool for a long time. Then it burned my eyes. I haven't done it, though, since I got contacts because I'm afraid of ruining them. I really like goggles now. Speedo the best brand for goggles.

you can swim with your eyes open in fresh or salt water provided it is somewhat clean.
you can not swim without eye protection below about 190 feet I think it is, or the pressure of the water will force water in the the membrane of the eye resulting in blindness.
if the shallow water is clorinated, your eyes can be irratated and in clear salt water with some levels of sand, your eyes can again be irratated. but usually there is no pain associated with swimming underwater with your eyes open, even at depths causing blindness.

Only way I swim, I want to see where I'm going. No it doesn't hurt, the chlorine makes your eyes sting a bit.

Only if the water is really salty/dirty.
In the Bahamas (where I'm from) it'll only hurt when I come OUT of the water and the air hits my eyes. darn.
