I've moved around, so it's always a tough choice.
When I first started following baseball, I'd listen to Jack Buck and Harry Carey broadcasting Cardinals games when the Cardinals had baseball's first million dollar line-up (Brock, Flood, Maris, Cepeda, Shannon, Javier, Maxvill, McCarver, and Gibson). (Edit: By million dollar line-up, I mean the total salary of all the starting players was over a million - it was definitely a different era.)
Then I moved to Ohio and followed the Indians. They had two can't miss prospects in Lou Piniella and Richie Scheinbloom. They could only protect one in the expansion draft, so they kept Scheinbloom. He started out 0 for 33, then went on an incredible 4 game hitting streak that raised his batting average to .104, went hitless some more, and finally settled into a groove and hit around .160 for the season. Piniella won rookie-of-the-year with the Royals. Scheinbloom was eventually released by the Indians, signed by the Royals, and eventually made the all-star game. Piniella did what all good players of the 70's did - he went to the Yankees and made baseball history by running for the cycle (getting thrown out at every base in the same game).
The Indians had a rookie-of-the-year, though. He was Joe Charboneau. He could also drink beer through his nose. He didn't have a long career.
They finally are involved in their first pennant race in over 30 years and a baseball strike cancels the end of the season. Being an Indians fan was a frustrating experience. The last half of the 90's was fun, though.
The years of frustration as an Indians fan prepared me to be a Rockies fan when I moved to Colorado. Except this Rockies team is worth rooting for. They remind me of when baseball was more than home runs, strike outs, and steroids. They actually play defense. I like this Rockies team better than the current Indians and maybe even better than the million dollar Cardinals (who can resist an underdog?).

At age 13 I went to a New York Met game, this was in Aug of 1964. The game lasted 6 hour. It was a 26 inning game, the longest of any I have ever seen. Ever since that time I have followed the Mets.I watch them win their first World Series in 1969 as well as 1986. I have seen some great players Tom Seaver,Keith Hernandez and Gary Carter to name a few. My only disappointment I had with Mets was this year losing on the last day of the regular season.

The Kansas City Royals. I grew up in KC with a family full of Royals fans. By the time I was old enough to figure out that I had the choice to root for another team, I was already hooked on the Royals. It's been tough for the last decade, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The Cleveland Indians. They are the Chicago Cubs of the AL, they have had more bad things happen to them (Ray Chapman getting killed in 1920, Herb Score being hit by a line drive and ruining his career in 1959, etc). But they are one of the 4 charter members of the AL that are still where they started, they build thru the minors, and they have a genuine fan base that stays thru the good and bad. We will suffer thru the Boston series just like we suffered thru Jose Mesa losing the game 7 lead in the 97 WS, and one day our ship will come in...CLEVELAND ROCKS!!.

Tigers. I was born in a Tiger family, but actually the 2000 season I really started to watch the games. I nearly switched after the 2003 season, but I'm glad I stayed with them. No matter what I will probably be a D-Town fan.

My team is the Blue Jays. I grew up in Ontario, when the Jays were a new organization, and they've been my team since that time. I can't imagine rooting for anyone else.
It's been a long time since the back-to-back titles, but I'll never give up on my team.

White Sox. For T-Ball pictures, we got a choice of either Wrigley Field or Comiskey Park (it was back then). I chose Comiskey and I started liking the White Sox.

Sadly...the Mariners - even though they will always be crap because they refuse to make smart decisions and manage their team properly. But I am basically born and raised here in Seattle and so it is what it is.
BTW, the Red Sox suck butt. I hate Man Ram.
