Bush today requested an additional $45 billion for the war, bringing the total for this year alone to $200 billion. The CBO now projects the total cost 10 years from now to be at least $2 trillion. Is there any end to the blind ignorance of this President? Is there any chance that the Democrats will finally show some guts and put a stop to this insanity?

Not very likely.

Not only do the Dems lack a backbone, but the moderate Republicans are reluctant to set aside their party loyalty and have the guts to take a stand against Bush, not just with empty rhetoric but with their votes to kill legislation that is benefitial to his war machine. It would help if Congress did show some teeth for once.

Currently the way the process works is,

President says to Congress, "Gimme money"
Congress says, "What for?"
President: "The troops need it"
Congress: "When are they coming home?"
President: "Gonna just abandon them there, huh?"
Congress: "No money until you tell us when they're coming home"
P: "Your Democrat majority is not enough to override any veto of ANY Bill you set before me, should I choose to veto it, give me my money or see nothing get passed in the US for the next 18 months"
C: "Will a check be sufficient?"

I am sorry, did you refer to our President, and our Military as "blind ignorance?" Because if you did, then I am here to tell you, that you are sadly mistaken!!! They are all protecting this country and YOU, I might add, from real terrorists that exist in the Middle East, who are threatening our lives on a DAILY BASIS...as you sit there complaining about money...they are killing more INNOCENT human lives and will continue to do so. President Bush is trying to keep them from coming over to our country and killing us! President Bush is not the one to call "blind ignorance!" Also, we call them proudly, American Military. Not, Bush War Machine. The Democrats will do nothing but open the gates wide open for the terrorists to walk in our country and attack us!!!! They don't think with their brains or hearts! In my opinion, that's where the "blind ignorance" you're referring to truly lies.

Of course not. They talk big about being anti war but they voted to go to war and they will continue to vote to pay for it. They know if we leave without fixing Iraq we will be back in a few years and its going to be 10x worse than it is now.

The newest attempt at halting the war is a simply worded resolution that states in it's entirety: Stop the war or we'll make mean faces at you.

No chance whatsoever.

The "liberal" Democratic Party differs with the "conservative" Republicans only in what methods to use to preserve the empire.

Politicus Democraticus is a creature that lacks a backbone. They will complain, but then they'll pass the funding.

I'd bet if Bush decide to cut the funding for our troops, Liberals and Democrats will surely accuse him not provide enough protection for our troops.

"Damn if Bush do, Damn if Bush Dont."

The only way to Support our troops is to use them for defense, not offensive imperial agendas...then when we really do need them they're not going to be there...ever heard of the boy who cried "terrorist!"

I'm sorry, the "Bush War Machine"?

How many ways can liberals find to spit on American service members without really spitting on them?

Please do me a favor:

Spit on me. Leave them alone.
