I am a 3rd grade teacher. My class will be decorating pumpkins for the Pumpkin Festival here in town. We are looking for ideas on how to decorate the pumpkins to go with the theme of "Pumpkin Dreams." So far, we are really liking the sleeping pumpkins idea... Please let me know if you have any suggestions or other ideas for us! Thanks for your help!

Accessorize - use nightcaps, pajamas, pillows, blankets, etc. to emphasize that they are "asleep". Make up cardboard dialog balloons like in the comics to show snoring. Maybe even show a sheep jumping over a sleeping pumpkin.

Be sure that anything that they make is big enough to be seen from the curb, though.

(I believe that this is the TEACHER)
I like the idea of having the kids paint their dreams/wishes. Like... Say a little girl dreamed of having a pony, she could paint a pony on the pumpkin.
Or, if you're carving, you could cut out moons, stars and cloud shapes to show the idea of dreamland. :)
