Do you mean y = 8x + -2?

This is in slope-intercept form:
y = mx + b

If it is in this form, then m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

In your line (y = 8x + -2) the slope is 8 and the y-intercept is -2.

You need to set this equal to something!! I'm assuming you want the slope for: y+8x-2 = 0

In which case your slope is -8
