Only if they win the first game. Otherwise, no, they will be swept in spectacular fashion.

No the Rockies will not beat the Red Sox in the World Series. I mentioned in one of the yahoo answers I posted a while ago the Red Sox will win the American League pennant and beat any team the National League has to offer. At the time I had no idea as did many others the Colorado Rockies would be that team. The defense of the outfield the Red Sox had out there for the 9th inning against the Indians was the best i have ever seen in 65 years of watching baseball!! Check it out....Jacoby Ellsbury in left field ,a tremendously fast and sure fielder,Coco Crisp in centerfield a gold glove centerfielder by all means, and JD Drew in right sure and steady fielder who does make some great catches. All together an awesome defensive outfield. Congrats to Terry Francona for doing a great job with the Sox to win the pennant with the moves Terry made. The Yankees would love to have Terry Francona as their manager. Count on it !!

I think it's a consensus that Boston will win this even though Colorado has been the hottest team in the league and hot teams are difficult to handle in the post-season. The reason said isn't because they haven't been there before, these guys are professionals and getting to the world series won't necessarily shake them any. Boston has two pitchers that no team would want to face in the post-season, Beckett and Schilling will be so hard to beat. Even though Colorado's pitching has been phenomenal so far, besides Francis they don't posses anyone with the kind of dominance it will require to keep Boston's hot bats in check.

They have been doing a real good job handling everyone they have faced this past month, if they continue to play well they can beat the Red Sox. The players on both teams are so good that either team can beat the other on any given day. The Rockies beat the Red Sox 2 out of 3 games in inter-league play this year which should give them confidence.

I have a question for everyone that is asking about the snow. Do you know that we live in the Northeast? We probably get close to as much snow as those in Colorado. I'm very confused. I think the whole snow thing will be a non-factor, considering they won't play baseball in the RAIN, nevermind snow. Please come up with new stuff. We LOVE snow around these parts.
Also, some of these Red Sox are also going to the Series for the first time. I don't think this will factor in the result either. Great series coming up. Sox in 6!!!

A lot of things said here are easier said than done, but I imagine the Rockies don't want to allow the allure of being in the world series to get to them, nor do they want to be intimidated by the energy and drama at Fenway Park.
Then from there, just like in regular season game you want to knock their ace of the staff out as early as you can, and work on their bullpen, so that you can score as many as possible, and wear down on the pitching staff to hopefully help you out later on in the series. In other words force Francona to use his bullpen earlier than he'd like so that you can affect his gameplans.
If you are a pitcher, and you want to win in Fenway, you'd better have your A game mentality on in an enviroment as electric as Fenway itself anytime much less in the world series. A few base hits and a homerun over the green monster and that place just gets more raukus.
I'd say a an opposing pitcher should stay within his game, to keep the hitters down and neutralize the crowd a bit so that you can keep momentum off of the Red Sox.
These are all simple in objective, it's much harder than it sounds, but that's what the Rockies have to do, don't let Boston take them out of their game.

Personally, I think its a pretty good match-up. The Rockies remind me of the 2004 RedSox, up against way too many odds. There is something magical about the winning of 21 out of 22 games. and I think that it will carry out too HOWEVER the RedSox also have something magical about them so it's pretty even. It should be a good series and I think overall they can "handle" Boston, but it will be close.

The Rockies are playing with such confidence right now I doubt that anyone could rattle them.
Earlier this year they went to Fenway and beat both Beckett and Schilling by a margin of 19-2.
I think they will be and do just fine.

I think they can. They are coming into the series winning 21 of their last 22 games and I think will lose at the least 2 games but I think they will win the series four games to one.

I don't think appearances count for much. In recent years the Marlins and Diamondbacks have both won.
Obviously the Rocks are on quite a roll (budump-bump). But they've been doing it mainly with the bats, and I think the long layoff is going to hurt them.
