Clomid is a fertility medication that is prescribed when a woman isn't ovulating. It blocks the estrogen receptors in your body so therefor you body thinks you are not going to ovulate and will produce more estrogen and increase your chances of actually ovulating. It works in about 80-85% of women in the first 6 months. It is pretty mild with little side effects for most. It does increase your chance of multiples by 10% or so. Talk to your doctor if you feel you might need this. They can run the appropriate tests to determine if you are in need and can benefit from this. best wishes ttc!!!!

It can help some women. It really depends on your individual situation. I have PCOS and am Clomid resistant, meaning I don't ovulate on Clomid (I took it 5 times). Being Clomid resistant is a common problem for PCOS women...they often need the "hardcore" injectable fertility meds to ovulate. Good luck.

yes that drug is suppose to help you conceive, but not every woman who take it would conceive, I myself did 4 cycles of it and never conceive, it just made my ovaries got worster with cycts and made it larger then normal, I have pcos and was given the pill to help induce ovulation, if ovulation haven't occur your dr would upper your dose, I was up to 100mg, clomid has alot of side effects, now I am currently taking metformin to help with my ovulation hopefully mext month if I don't get a BFP, I'll be taking injectables
