The former. Better an empty life than a cold heart.

I would rather not be put in either position...as neither one is a good feeling! If you make me choose though...I will say the first one! I have a lot of love to give to the ones I love! I do not care if EVERYONE in the world loves me...but there a few that I don't want to ever live without their love!!! =D

The former. Because if you never allow yourself to love back, you will spend the remaining of your life with the "what ifs" haunting you. At the same thing, understand that despite we may try our best to make something work, sometimes, things are not meant to be. Two person meet, learned their lessons/or paid their dues and part. Think of the good moments and not remember the bad.

Sort of going through that. I love my best friend but we don't have sex. I have two or three great sex buddies, but I don't love them. I like them, but I also know the difference. However, to dispell any morbidness about all this, I certainly have had a mutual long term relationship. It's best to have both. But loving someone else is the most important thing you can do. Even if it's Platonic. Sex, even if it's ONLY that is still the most fun you can have without laughing.

I think I would prefer the emptiness of not feeling love (but being loved) rather than the intense pain of not being loved back. But when it comes to marriage, I cannot marry someone who loves me (even if he is crazy about me and is the best person on earth) but who I don't love.

I've lived in both worlds... and they BOTH suck. You always feel like there is something missing. When you love, you feel you are constantly being taken advantage of, and no one really respects you.

And the latter, you question why people love you when you offer nothing in return. I also found myself being loved by people i didnt want to be loved by... ya know?! its kinda creepy stalkerish to have everyone around you love you even when you're a total b*tch.

Unfortunately, I have had more than my fair share of the former and I would like to have the latter now...I am tired of being the one doing the loving...

The real love we all need we get by giving without expecting in return.

Both are empty and unfulfilling, if the choice is absolute altruism or absolute narcisscism, I choose- neither..........
