I want to build a road to my home from the street and pretty much customize my street address, how would I go about doing that legally so that I get mail properly and whatnot?

I spent many years Building housing developments, they all start out as private roads, go to your city/county planning & zone agency.

Unless the road you intend to build is a public roadway, you can name it whatever you desire. However, your mailing address, in that case, will be on the street from where you start.

Chances are that this will end up as a private roadway, since, if the municipality accepts it as a public roadway, they are responsible to maintain it as such.

Start with zoning to see if you even can in your county; also give the 911 addressing department a ring.
