Flying to Pescara (Abruzzo) in November with my girlfriend - any suggestions on things to do/ places to stay?

Question

I'm only going for a few days and will hire a car. Where would we be a good place to stay? I've been to L'Aquila so would like to visit somewhere different?

Is there likely to be snow at that time of year? Will it be possible to walk in the mountains or will it be inaccessible at this time of year?
