Of course not. I look at him (or her) as a person trying to improve. Nonetheless, I look at this person as someone who is statistically likely to commit another felony.

Those criminals sure can't catch a break can they?
Kidding, I try to judge people as little as possible but we're all human. Honestly though, my sister and her husband are both convicted felons and they have good hearts. I think the system is fine the way it is, but we shouldn't be judging anyone on this plane of existence. I do think criminal records should work slightly different then it does if your a minor, but for the most part the system is solid.
So, no. :)

No !!! I do not............
I try to see beyond what was passed that caused them to commit the felony and to recognize that justice has its imbalance, but! never the less, that person was sentenced by a court of law and what ever the jury of social peers decided, the judgment was agreed upon and the person will carry that circumstance for life no matter what, believe it or not some people do change and some do not , and that is the imbalance we call crap of life. the bottom line is to be a better judge of character and develop a discerning nature

I wouldn't....I know alot of people that have went to jail for mistakes or bad choices nobody is perfect, you can live the perfect life have a successful job and the next day be a convict, so no it makes you a better person if you're trying to change and if anyone have a negative comment than they should pick up their bible every once and awhile....

No. We all make mistakes in our lives and we should be given a chance to learn from those mistakes.
I do not go along with the phrase "once a felon, always a felon".

Maybe he is a better person now but what he did will be in his name everywhere he goes. That is the lifetime punishment anyone would never want to have. So, before doing anything bad, think a hundred times first before doing it because i know you don't to be a prisoner of your bad deeds forever even if you are already out of prison.

A convicted felon has broken the law but is not necessarily a good or bad person. Whether he/she is trying to make a better life is irrelevant. Just because society (particularly those members who wear uniforms) labels an individual "good" or "bad" does not make it so.

Sometimes, ex-cons can turn out alright, but not often. It is unfortunate the majority will end up back in prison, or at least deserve to be.
I guess it depends on the person, his ambition and desire to contribute to society rather than take from it. Most felons I've known are either really screwed up from being incarcerated, or they continue their trade.

It depend on what the crime was and if he/she paid their debt to society. It is also and individuals choice to make that decision.
Undoubtedly, it will take a long time for this person to win approval but he should be supported and applauded for making the effort.
A rapist or child molester would not be on every ones list for citizen of the year.

Is that person still involved in the kind of life that got him in trouble to begin with?
Is he really trying to do the right thing?
If I can answer no to the 1st and yes to the 2nd question then, I'd give them a chance.
A lot of it depends on the crime.
and what lead up to it.

I believe that him trying to make his life better is a good thing and makes him a better person but having the title of "convicted felon" leaves him to be known to be capable of bad things. I would compare it to a venus flytrap almost.
