that's definitely a fragment, because it has no predicate- the one that describes a subject and usually is made up of a verb.

try putting a verb. e.g. valleys are in the north and marshesin is in the south, with coastal plains in between, to make it a sentence.

if you don't want , you could revise the sentence, just remember to accompany a verb.

simple sentence= subject (noun/prounoun) + predicate (usually verb) that describes the subj.
