First off I haven't had a period since the first of July which was after getting off of birthcontrol. I started having symptoms of pregnancy I mean every possible symptom the week of Sep 10th. Took preg test all came back neg, so went and had a ultrasound done and it came up that I had a oviarian cyst. I also took a thyroid test which came bck normal. It seems odd to me that it would be the cyst causing these signs or the birthcontrol since I did't experience anything for two months. I go to a OBGYN next month but just wondering what some of you thought and if anyone has been through this before. I still feel and look pregnant, so is it still possible for me to be? I never wanted to be or thought I was until I started having symptoms last month.

I was just seen by a family doctor due to insurance reasons. She did a pap on me and I asked for the ultrasound, she told em she thought it was my thyroid but that came back normal. When they called me with the resultst they said that my thyroid test was normal and that the ultrasound showed a cyst but no follow up visit was needed we are just going to wait for your period to come. So then I called them back and got a referral. I mean it's been 3mnths since my last period and I really don't feel like it is going to come. I know some people ovaulate without a period so I thought maybe I could be pregnant maybe five weeks or six and if that early than it wouldn't show up on the ultrasound or at least I wouldn't think so. Just doesn't make since. If it is the cyst or pills then why did it take two months before it agve me any symptoms?

Birth control screws your cycles up especially once you stop taking them. Maybe you should consider taking a progesterone supplement to bring on your periods.

When did the ovarian cyst appear? Did you tell them you thought you were pregnant? Unless semen has come into contact around your genital area you can't be pregnant, but if it has then you could have an ectopic pregnancy. Did they mention anything like that? If not you may want to get your mind put at rest about that. You should talk to your doctor about this, as it can and will be very serious if left untreated.
On the other hand it could be something like the cyst is pressing on hormone areas and causing them to release hormones in levels normally associated with pregnancy. perhaps you could get a blood test for pregnancy and/or ovarian related chemicals to check.

Been there and done that and yes, it does exactly that. I had the same symptoms that you are talking about. While some cists burst and go away mine didn't and turned into a tumor. I had to have a hysterectomy and the test came back and turned out abnormal. We went though the Big C thing. Am OK now, but went though some hairy mental things.
Keep going to the OBYGN and stay on top of it. These things can be just a pain in the A__, or they can get serious. My turned out ok.
But, if you get tired and want to sleep most of the time, make your doctors pay attention to you, don't let them tell you that it is just normal. Make them check for cancer. This was one of my big symptoms and they ignored me until it was nearly to late.
Best of luck and hope you have lots of kids.

Ovarian cysts have been known to give you the same feelings as being pregnant. My friend thought she was pregnant and the test even came back positive, and when she went in for the ultrasound it showed that she wasn't pregnant but in fact she had an ovarian cyst. But if you still believe that you are, when you go to the OBGYN ask them about the cyst and that you think you might be pregnant. They will be able to give you the best answers and explanations

hi. Your best bet would be to go to a gyn just because many of the pregnancy test are not accurate. You can be reading it incorrectly or maybe just not buying the right kind. A cyst can be the cause also because I read someplace before that you can get nausea and bloating from a cyst. I hope everything works out for you.

If you had a qualitative blood test done and it was 0 then I would say you are not pregnant. Cysts can make your body feel pregnant though. You could also have an interuterine ultrasound to see if there is a baby in there but I doubt it. I would wait and see what your doctor says. Best wishes!!!!!

When I had cysts I had the same symptoms... Over and over again until I had the cysts removed. I'd swell up and look about 3 months pregnant, vomiting, sore breasts .. no period
You should see about having the cysts surgically removed before they rupture because that can be extremely dangerous!
Although like the person above me said you may have endometrious ... I have that also so it magnifies the symptoms of having cysts

By now you should have an accurate pregnancy test. You went to the doctor and had an ultrasound done. I don't think you're pregnant. Keep your chin up and try not to obsess like me! It only makes you miserable.

i think it depends on what kind of birth control you are on, it can make your body think its already pregnant, that way you dont ovulate and whatnot. kind of strange how your body can play with you like that. if you think about it long enough and believe it to be true, then your body will react to that. also stress can cause symptoms of pregnancy. i know what you mean about not wanting it until you think you might be, thats when you find yourself in a whole new place. anyway, good luck to you and God bless
