I love to get the real life advice! We will be staying downtown but have scheduled enough time to do some exploring. The strip doesn't do much for me but, since it is my husbands first time there, we are planning a day at the strip. Hoover Dam? Shows? Other sites not within Las Vegas? Thank you in advance.

I enjoyed GM the Drive it was in the back of a hotel on the Stratosphere and Circus Circus side of the strip. The hotel has a Nascar thing inside too. So if you can find it you pay $10 you can drive 2 cars, like 2 luxury or 2 SUV, or 1 of each, and it's awesome. I did the track with a hummer and it was really cool, and then I drove a Corvette down a drag strip. They just need $10 your drivers license and proof of insurance, and they check if your sober.

Hoover Dam was cool in fact we took an all day deal, to the Hoover Dam and the west Rim of the Grand Canyon and that was really cool.

I missed freemont experience but that is supposed to be cool, we saw the volcano at the Billago, I missed the Treasure Island outside show which was supposed to be cool. Sort of saw the water display out side the, can't think if that hotel but you know what I mean, or will. Everything in this paragraph are free shows.

Weel the fact that you are staying down town means you are already starting off on the right foot! However, there are a few cool things on the strip, especially since your hubby has never been there, like the shows at Treasure Island and the Bellagio. My best Vegas tip would definitely be the giant soda can in front of the MGM grand for show tickets. On the day of the show, the big soda can gets all the unsold tickets and sells them at a fraction of the cost. Its a little known Vegas treasure, and one you should definitely check out to get to see some really neat stuff rather than pump your money into a slot machine.

Enjoy a gondola ride at the Venetian and then follow up with a free water show at the Bellagio.

Stay on the strip. I watch the magic shows. Extreme Magic is my favorite.

Death Valley, you can make one day trip and come back.
Zion or Gand Canyon a little longer, two day trip better.
All 3 are national parks.

The Liberace museum. I didn't think it would be interesting at all but it was. Very Vegas!
