OMG all the time. I live in Florida and during hurricane season I just sit around wishing for a hurricane to hit so I don't have to come to this boring place.

For some people, a general disaster absolves them of daily responsibility.
Many years ago, I was on my way to teach an early morning class and I heard on the radio that the university was shut down because of the snow storm. When I went into a local coffee shop, I met a student who also didn't learn of the cancellation until he had already left.
He remarked to me that he really liked things like general shutdowns. He admitted that he wasn't one of my better students ( I agreed, but silently ) but that on a day like that one, he "was as good as anyone".
Disaster is both a distraction from something you don't enjoy, exciting and has a "leveling" effect ( if you're not hurt by the event ).

Absolutely, but any other non-lethal disaster would be just fine as well. Lets just say that I really liked the ending of "Office Space."

uhh. then maybe you should get a differnt job? lol
work as something you like to do, like if you like to shop then work in retail as a personal shopper. or if you like to draw then be an art teacher? somethingg like that so you actually want to get up every morning.
