I don't think women should be treated differently than men with anything, including at gas stations. Women are just as capable as men at pumping their own gas, checking their own tire pressure, checking their own oil, etc. None of those things are really that hard at all. If they were going to provide those services at a gas station, which they do in some places, then they should provide them to anyone who wants them and is willing to pay extra for them, not just women.

Move to Oregon, it is illegal to pump your own gas here.
All stations have attendants, which is why we pay a lot more for our gas here. Attendants only pump gas, they don't check oil or tire pressure or wash windows. Be happy.

Why do you feel this way only toward the women?
Sure, it would be nice to have these extras like in the good old days, but for ANY customer. What about the gentleman returning from work in a business suit? Or the handycapped? Or the elderly?

If there were a demand for this service, it would be provided. But you would have to pay extra for it. Providing that service means hiring an extra employee, and that costs money. With gas already at record prices, I doubt many women would be willing to pay even more for a service they should already know how to do themselves.

The way I see it...if you want to be treated equally, then no more double standards or special treatment. I still do the chivalry thing, just because I was raised to be like that, but if there is gonna be an attendant, then it should be for everyone.

Why just for women? I think there should be one pump for both men and women. If either sex needs to have someone pump their gasoline for them, so they don't get any on their formal clothing (suit/dress etc) ... then yeah, I'm all for it. But, if you want someone to pump your gas for you, for the mere fact that you're too darn lazy to do it yourself ... no.

I think there should be someone there to help everyone. There are men that cant figure it out, just like there are some girls that CAN. Its sexist to say that only girls need help.
I mean, im sure if they had them there that mostly girls would ask for help, but if they did do it, the help should be offered to everyone.
good idea though, i know id love someone to help me out if i got confused trying to look at my car.

checking tire pressure and oil levels is something important to know if you own a car, regardless if you're a female or male. it's just part of being a responsible car owner.

You've got to be kidding me??!!! And do you also believe that men should have the option of a hot meal, shoulder massage, and a bl*w-job when they get to the front desk of a business office?
Jeez.
