What happened? Why would someone write daily for 6 months or longer and then disappear without a word while ignoring e-mails, IM messages, text and SMS messages? ( and knowing full well that nothing bad happened to this person...they are just ignoring you)
Why would someone so sweet turn mean and vengeful on a dime, full well knowing that the silence would hurt you?
Any pop psychologists want to take a stab at this?

Maybe they were just bored towards the end and see this "friendship" going nowhere.

alot of the time with an internet relationship, it is all about power and control. a relationship that strictly takes place on the pages on cyberspace is not a relationship.

and the reason they can turn from sweet to vengeful is because when someone sits behind a screen they can choose to be and act however they want.

when they wrote daily it's because it made them feel good.

you sound like an intelligent person who is fully capable of understand and being with someone. so get out there, get some one that you get along with and have a relationship in reality. trust me, there are tons of people out there for you and they are much better.

good luck

This must be fairly common. For a "relationship" to be restricted to email for six months indicates that at least one of the parties isn't interested in carrying it further and is indulging "for fun".

In all likelihood, the email is a pseudonym and the disappearing party either got bored or was discovered by a real significant other and had to end the correspondence.

A year ago a person asked me for an add on myspace and later confided to me that he had a terminal illness. A few weeks ago his MySpace acct. had been deleted. I don't know whether he died or moved away or what. He told me that I cheered him up, and now I feel bad that he's gone, even though I didn't really know him the way I know my other MySpace friends.

They got a "REAL" B/F or G/F but didn't know how to tell you.
