My cousin passed away in the August and his wife cannot get into the files on his computer. My cousin password protected all the financial files on his computer. However, he did not tell his wife what the passwords are because he apparently took care of all the finances. He didn't leave a written list of passwords that she can find. Who can she contact or where can she go to get these financial files opened? She's lucky she found the life insurance papers, but everything else is on the computer.

An animal should never be gifted to a child without an adult able and willing to assume full responsibility for the pet if/when the child loses interest and the newness wears off. Is there an adult in the home who is willing to be responsible for training and care of a new pup if this happens? Really, the best thing to do is to gift new puppy supplies and then sit down with the child and discuss what they want in a dog. Help them choose a breed that is good for them and help them find a good trainer before acquiring the dog. Also securing a vet is a good idea too. ADDED: Think about it this way, if someone were going to get you a dog as a gift, wouldn't you want to be part of the selection process in type of puppy and such? That's a big part of getting a dog is picking the one that is right for you. Your little bro would probably really enjoy being part of that!

You are best off getting someone else to do this for you. When you get into pasword cracking and the sorts, you get into a realm that is not exactly legal every time it is used. So most of the time the solution you find will be very shady or will require a lot of computer skill (beyond opening a file).
I suggest going to bestbuy and asking geek squad to get into it for you. When you go, bring a full list of all of the files you need to get into and a copy of the death certificate.
The best of luck to you in your attempts, and I am sorry for the loss to your family.

obviously he didn't want her knowing about it if she doesn't know the password. Tell her she's SOL and quit snooping through people's stuff. And then make her wear a raccoon mask so everyone will know what she did
