you're wasting your keystrokes Mel.Libs will never admit that war with Iraq and Afghanistan was justified.I wonder how they will blame the U.S. for the next domestic attack we will suffer.

Who is going to pay for this so-called victory at all costs?

If the United States was threatened, then I could see continuing with this war. But I Iraq has never posed a threat against America, so why are we there?

Is oil that important, that we should sacrafice human lives, just to make the rich people richer?

Hello Mel,
This isn't Churchill's time nor the terror. These are a whole new breed that infest countries and cross borders. Apparently the surge has worked and even Bin Laden isn't very happy about it in his latest video. We have made a committment to the Iraqi people and there are millions of them on our side in this. they are known to support us, and if we leave now it would mean certain death to them.

My thinking is not so narrow as to believe that we should leave so that people in another country should die. Shouldn't we stay until we are able to leave in a responsible manner?

Given victory and the alternative, any rational person must choose victory.

Sly kitty...

"This is great for WWII. For an unjust war against a country that didn't attack us, it doesn't work."

When did Bosnia or Darfur attack us? Just wondering....

Oh and BTW.... we aren't fighting the Iraqi's and when we were... we took down an evil repressive dictator (when was that a bad thing?)... we are fighting extremists and Iranian's...

Well said. Churchill has been considered one of the most wise in our time. This was is in motion. It should stay that way until it comes to a conclusion. Americans don't start wars we end them and that will be the conclusion of this one.

I'm in agreement w/ "Daniel". A TRUE patriot would stand by the people -- not the gov't. Whenever bullies may take action -- we must stand up to them. Wherever they may hide -- we must oust them. We must defend ourselves from the enemy -- whether they come from within or not.

In response to your quoted question, I will offer another quote :-
"I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its futility, its stupidity".
Dwight D Eisenhower.

This is great for WWII. For an unjust war against a country that didn't attack us, it doesn't work.

Bosnia and Darfur are examples of us joining a UN Peace Keeping force, not us going in mostly alone, without the UN's approval in answer to your email.
