This guy I know dates so many women and is very sexually active with a high libido. He recently told me in confidence that some years ago he had three encounters with transvestites because he wanted to know how it felt to have anal sex and give oral sex. He does not consider himself gay because he is not attracted to men. Can this be true?

Hmm. Ok let me ask this..whatever he is..would it be reason NOT to date him? Seems he is a bit on the 'freaky' side in liking the anal penetration and I have found a strap on in his bathroom of which he told me he used with an ex girlfriend. Sounds like this guy is really open about sexual pleasure..just the transvestite thing is a bit puzzling.

Assuming you're talking about male transvestites; he's at least bisexual if he had sex of any kind with them.

Considering he has had sex with multiple people on a continuing basis, the thing you need to ask is how many STD's is this guy carrying? Remember that if you have sex with him, you also have sex with everyone he has ever had sex with. He may not be attracted to men who dress as men, but he is apparently not bothered if the men dress as women, which does make him bi-sexual which includes homosexuality.

Your question should be is this what you want in a relationship? I really don't think he's going to settle down for one partner after sampling all the wares.

Since "straight" means you only like women, and since cross dressers or transvestites are not women, then you are not straight if you could enjoy sexual relations with one. Being turned on by their feminine appearance only means you are attracted to femininity. Go talk to some in a bar. See if they still appeal to you. Then maybe kiss one. If you find yourself still attracted at that point and want to take it further, you're probably bi. But there's only one way to know for sure. Is it important enough to you to find out?

Labels are very broad and I see no need for them at all. I personally have met straight men who simply wish to experiment with a member of the same sex. A male who looks and acts like a female makes that experiment even easier for that straight man. If he is not attracted to men, he is not bi or gay. He is simply curious and open minded, and wishes to experience something he has always wondered about. So, in answer to your question, yes, it can be true. It is simply wishful thinking to people who insist on hanging a label on someone for any deviation from their definition of "straight." There are a lot of those wishful thinkers in this section of yahoo answers.

I've not had an experience with a transvestite, but have had several "gay" friends who have given me oral many many times, and I thought then and now that it is really true that gay men really do know how to please. It has always felt better when done by a gay or bi man.

Since he wanted to know how it felt to give oral sex and have anal sex then he can probably be labeled as Bi-Sexual. But to an extent yes he is gay.
