I have come across some people who are claiming that the holocaust didnt happen.

I am disgusted.

But how can I agrue a point with these people except to say "yes it did you sicko".

What are some good responses to their denials, because in all honesty i'm too shocked to know where to start.

Yeah, there is a whole section of 'Historical Revisionist' who deny the holocaust ever happened.

They have their roots in the far right (Nazi's) but have taken a new ploy, they are educated, look smart & clean shaven, rather than the old NF skinheads.

Their arguments are hollow & shallow. Here are a few of the most common ones that they come up with so you have an idea on what they will say so you can plan a response.

- Jews died, but from TB, hence the need for the camps & pics of dead bodies.
- No actual written order found to kill the Jews.
- Could not have happened as the numbers of dead don't add up.
- Some Jews lied so you cannot trust ANY of the claims.
- A myth made up by the allies.
- Jews lied to get their own state.
- Impossible to gas that many of people.
- Jews not fed properly due to supply issues.

Also point out that it is ILLEGAL in countries to deny the holocaust eg AUSTRIA.

Also you may have to look up a total git DAVID IRVINE who is a major holocaust denyer. His book is terrible due to the content, but he will be quote and is something of a 'father figure' to these people.

Again, by understanding WHAT they say you will get ideas on the best way to respond.

WE MUST NEVER FORGET WHAT HAPPENED.............Well done you for wanting to keep the truth alive. The people close to you and those who died will be proud.

The most shocking thing about the Holocaust is the fact that it did happen! The very fact that man could do this to man in my lifetime is something that I have found difficult to come to terms with.
There is so much historical evidence and eye witness accounts that it is not worth arguing with these 'deniers'. They have an agenda, which is mainly anti Jewish. What a lot of people forget is that those sent to the concentration camps (including the extermination camps) included those who disagreed with the Nazis, homosexuals, gypsies, the disabled and foreign captives, as in the SOE.
Those who say the Holocaust never happened are probably the same people who say the Americans never landed on the moon and that the Earth is flat.

You might repeat the following quotes from "The Holocaust Chronicle" A History in Words And Pictures , Publications International , LTD :

"It was a denial of God" .
"It was a denial of man".
"It was the destruction of the world in miniature form".
- Auschwitz survivor Hugo Gryn , on the Holocaust
as well as :
"Most of us find the details of the Holocaust almost too painful to bear , yet it is a journey we must undertake . Because only if we relive this horrific episode , understand the roots of hatred of the oppressors , and feel the agony of the victims will we make sure that another Holocaust never happens again" .

It is fact. Archive film footage exists and witness's have come forward and testamony exists.

These people you describe sound like Nazis so you would not be able to convince them. Perhaps best avoid people like that.
In other words do you count them as friends. I would not count them amongst my friends. Although I agree with free speech and people having opinions, these people would not get passed my front door ever!
I feel for all the Jewish people, and all the other people that died in these concentration camps at the hands of these evil men and women.
Whilst I am about it I deplore any such brutality against people wherever they may be by these types of regimes anywhere in the world. I will fight evil until the day I die.
I hope you will too.

Plato
I would love to see that footage as it is commonly believed the Russians liberated Auschwitz and the other concentration camps.
Too many people think that the US and Britain were the only people fighting against the Nazi's in World War two and forget the absolutely massive contribution by the Russians

You can't argue with people like that, because they are obviously beyond reason. It is a FACT, and if we are at the point where we are denying historic facts, then I am honestly lost for words. The scary part is that one of these fools is in charge of a country who have made no bones about the fact that they want another country exterminated (the sweet, pleasant Iran president.) The only way we can combat such ridiculous claims is to show them horrific pictures, link the m to Wikipedia, and point them in the direction of holocaust websites. Of course, these sources of information will be lies, because these people are so stupid that they are prepared to deny the most shocking display of Anti-Semitism in history. There is little point trying to respond unfortunately, because these people can't be reasoned with. I'm as disgusted as you, because I have Jewish blood myself, and I am fully aware of the horrors those Nazi b*stards caused.

You know it happened, I know it happened and my children teach their children about it just as I have taught them about their grandfather who came across some of those camps in WW 2.

Don't bother arguing with them about it, they are the same ones who deny the Bataan Death March. The next generation will be denying Rowanda and the like. Your going to find them in every generation.
