No. My watch just stopped and that doesn't mean that time is standing still.

Na. If you study it further, you'll notice that the Mayan calender just rolls back to zero. And counts over again. Actually, some suggest that it's all interelated to how the alignments of the planets are in our solar sytem with respect to the so-called major constellations. And apparently, it jibes with many many ancient calendar systems regarding the passing of the Age of Aquarius. Look it up. It's actually something that can be measured scientifically. However, interpretation of the meaning of anything is subject to personal beliefs. But it's always nice to have qualitative characteristics.
Peace

Humans will still be around after 2012.
This is another in a long line of end of the world prophecies. Do a bit of research and you will find a lot of prophecies for the end of the world. A lot of those said the world was supposed to have ended years ago.
January 1, 2013 will come around and the end of the world prophecy crowd will just have to dream up a new one.

Well according to my belief system, no one knows the day or time... so I don't believe it will. I actually think it is soon, but I don't think it will be in the 2012 mainly because too many people expect it.
