Yes. Too much for my own good I expect. I make and keep a lot of friends this way but I often wonder if it's at the expense of my credibility.
I can be pushed and even then I am firm but polite. I have it hard-wired into me from birth. I expect Sometimes I wish I was otherwise although largely I think I benefit from this.

I try to be polite. I think the limit to going out of your way for people is when they try to run over you, but even then you can still be polite about telling them so long. As soon as you stop being polite, the ones who've tried to mistreat you will begin to feel justified in their behavior towards you (as in "I knew it was only so long before he/she showed his/her true colors - he/she is a jerk just like everyone else and simply had it coming...").

I am actually more polite to strangers, like waiters and cashiers, than to my friends. I don't know why. I think it's because I know my friend will love me even if I don't say thank you and hold doors for them. But I make a point to be polite in the service industry because it's a sucky job.

I speak my mind if someone is trying to make me feel bad. I am very polite, but I don't let people step all over me

I reserve politeness to those who are intelligent, polite back and thoughtful. Or, if they are teachers, doctors, police officers, parents, etc.

It is easy to be impolite and near impossible to be polite, but there are great karma points to be had by those who are kind and good at heart.

Always. However, one pet peave that's for the men that seem to mistake it for flurting especially married men, sometimes I want to scream and ask if there is a sign anywhere on me that asks "Do you need attention?" "Would you like to flirt?" That's....creepy....and a turnoff to being polite and a turn on to ***** mode.
