When did he run up the score? New England scored 42 points in the first half, 7 in the second. He was asked why he went into the 2 minute drill before half time, his response was something like:
"It was half time!? Game isn't over. We've seen teams come back from huge deficits before, indy scored 28 points in 4 minutes a few years back. Teams have come back from larger deficits than 35-7 in a half so dont talk to me about the game being over. It was far from over."
I agree with him. I know you whiney ones would like them to stop keeping score at pro games and treat it like a little kids league were everyone wins, but this is pro sports. Don't like it, dont watch it.

Remember what happened when the Pats lost to the Colts. Pats had a big lead, the Colts caught up and won. He didn't want that to happen again. No coach wants to be caught in that situation.
Miami did score 21 points in the fourth quarter against the Pats.

He referenced the Colts-Bucaneers game of '03 when the Colts came back from being down 21 in the forth quarter to win.
Basically he compared the '03 Colts, who were a serious Super Bowl contender at the time, to the '07 Miami Dolphins who were 0-6.

Bellicheat? They should put you in the punitentiary. So original...
Anyway, have you seen the scores in college football? Why do we have so many questions about Bellichick running up the score and none about college football coaches?
You don't want to just beat a team, you want to leave a lasting impression, so that they never want to see you again. That's how you win championships, that's how you command respect.

He said that the Dolphins were still a threat, and they could have made it become only a 14 point lead....
{Now what I see is flaws in NE approach....If Brady goes down their whole team goes down}
Still I feel NE has NO Class....{Run up the Scores are crazy all they had to do is start running the ball which would have just killed the clock} For Class football Check out that Dallas v.s. Minny Game at the End Dallas had every chace to run up the score....

I don't see how running up the score should even be an issue. These guys aren't kids, but professional athletes - if they're not good enough to stop a team from scoring on every possession, then why should they get any mercy?
Personally, I'd feel less shame having Brady score on my every possession than I would in having to face their third-stringers. If your team is that bad, you deserve the punishment. It's not running up the score, it's just playing the game.

he said he felt like the dolphins were mounting a comeback based on their (dolphins) gameplan. he said, "according to the internal memos we "procured" from the dolphins front office detailing the game plan, that the next few plays would have scored against the defense that we had called".
he then went on to explain that the proper dosage of HGH hadn't been administered to the wideouts just yet, so he felt the need to pad the score. he also explained that he'd laid money on his team scoring more than 48 in this (dolphins) game.

He wasn't running up the score. If your team has the ball with a lot of time on clock & the other team can't play defense, that's not running up the score to me, it just proves the other team's defense sucks, but I would have run up the score on Dallas just to shut up the fake #81 T.O. & I would have enjoyed it as much as I did the popcorn
