I have this new co-worker who asked me for a favor to pick up something from her from a food store I was going to, shetold me she'll pay me back once she gets change, but she never did. When I saw her brought the same thing the next day, I ask her to get me some, too, next time but it didn't register that I was trying to remind her about it.

I would say Hey sorry to be a pest but I'm a little low today and could really use that money I loaned you, this way your not being rude but you are also conveying the message that you want your money. Should she say that she doesn't have it ask her if she would be able to get it by the end of the day or tomorrow morning. If she keeps dodging you then I would suggest calling it a loss and never loaning her cash again.

Ask politely, "hey do you have the change for the food I got you the other day?" If she plays dumb and act like it never happen then forget it, you most likely won't get it back. Becareful who you do favors for next time, coworkers are just as bad as friends when they know are able to take advantage of your kindness.

I would just tell her that you have an emergency and wanted to know if she could give you the money she owed. Edit:Kevin I don't think it was that seriously.

yeah you just have to ask. Any time you have to ask for money it is awkward, but none-the-less you just have to ask and if she owes you she wont think less of you. Like the previous answerer just say it with a smile and a light hearted tone, but also make sure she knows your serious.

just ask her at lunch time to pick you up something since she still owes you. or wait until she comes to get the money and tell her to call it even since she owed you .
