You still get your periods... your body is still going to produce the same hormones that say to your uterus "Okay, build up that uterine lining and see if a baby lands there! What? No baby? SHED, SHED!!" Heh. The tubal just prevents your eggs from getting into areas where they can be fertilized, all your organs remain in place.

You can still get pregnant after a tubal. It is incredibly unlikely (tubals are highly effective forms of birth control) but it does happen occasionally. The younger you are when you have your tubal, the more likely it is that the fallopian tubes will spontaneously reconnect. Pregnancy after tubal ligation can be problematic... the likelihood of ectopic pregnancies shoots through the roof. So if you ever get a positive pregnancy test post-tubal, get yourself to a doctor quick to make sure the kid has attached itself somewhere safe.

As far as your case, it is not at all surprising that you wouldn't have a period yet, especially if you are breastfeeding. It often takes a while for periods to return (linky)

YES! The only way you wouldn't get a period is through a hysterectomy or a partial. I had a tubal done and my cycle hasn't been the same, as a matter of a fact it's painful and my back hurts, and so does my navel around the time my cycle is about to come. So do some research first because all women bodies aren't the same and make sure it's the best choice for you! Good Luck

tubal ligation is more effective than the birth control pill which is 99.9% effective. it is possible to have an ectopic pregnancy after a tubal, but the odds are astronomical.
And yes, you continue to have your periods.

Take a pregnancy test just to be safe.

The chances of pregnancy after a TL are less than 3%....but it CAN happen.

Just be aware that if you're nursing, THIS can stall your periods. Also, you may not be immediately regular following giving birth. Its good that you're seeing your doctor to make sure.

Yes, you do. I had one long, LONG ago and had normal periods up until menopause, just like anybody else.
