I bought the wires and the plugs and wanted to know exactly where everything is before I started. Has anyone changed the plugs and wires on an S10? and if so how did they do it?

Buy a Haynes manual; those things can be lifesavers.

Your 2002 vehicle doesn't have a distributor, it has an ignition module and coil packs. You should be able to follow the plug wires from the plugs to the coil packs. Just be sure to put some lithium grease or similar in the plug wires to ensure good electrical contact and make sure to put the wires on in the same way that they came off.

This motor vehicle would not have a distributor cap. It makes use of whats called an ignition coil, which permits the laptop to administration which plug gets the voltage in accordance to the firing order. while you're having misfires, or have a ineffective cylinder, (your engine would run very undesirable, and the examine engine easy would be on) attempt to interchange the plugs first.

Don't have one ...electronic.
Follow the plug wires down from the spark plugs. There is a module in the front (left side)of the engine just above the oil pan lip.

Follow the spark plug wires from the actual plug. What they end on is the distributor cap.

All modern cars no longer use a distributor/distributor cap anymore. Most typically use some type of sensor (ie a crank sensor or cam sensor) to determine the location of the crank to determine ignition timing. (Electronic ignition.)
