There are a bunch of different scenarios where a gps device could come in handy - here are some:

Sometimes I'm driving a boat and I'd like to know the depth of the river or lake at the point I'm at. Sometimes I'm walking around on foot and I'd like to know where the nearest ATM machine from my bank is. Sometimes I'm in a plane and I want to know where the nearest airport is. And sometimes, I'm in my car and I'd like directions to avoid the traffic I'm stuck in.

GPS devices exist for all 4 scenarios: boats, planes, cars, and feet. But - never have I seen a GPS device well suited for all 4.

do you know of one? If so, please let me know!

thx!!

Look for a geocaching blog and look for comments about hand-held GPS products.

There are lots of GPS devices that are capable of what you ask for, but not one single unit that is capable of handling all four of the scenarios you are asking about.

Digitaldealz.net has a very wide variety of GPS devices at great prices, you might want to check them out.

But again, I do not believe that there is a single device that can handle all four of the tasks that you wish to accomplish.

No-sorry, theyre all separate so far--boats and cars maybe combined, if you have a 12 volt plug in.
