J. K. Rowling determined who Dumbledore was as part of how she developed his character. Creating a background story for the characters may never actually enter or be shown in the book but is is useful to keep the character in character. In this case, part of Dumbledore is that he's gay. If you don't pick it up from the books (I certainly didn't) it should make no difference to you or anyone.

Dumbledore is gay simply because J. K. Rowling, in her attention-seeking agenda, made the announcement.
The gay community should be outraged instead of happy about Dumbledore's revelation.
Why? Because J. K. Rowling knew that the books wouldn't sell as well had she made Dumbledore gay throughout her books. So what did she do? She kept her mouth shut until after she made millions of dollars and then outed him after the series had ended.
What a hypocrite!
And what a poor writer to re-write her books after the fact.

Yeah he is JKR said so
The most notable news of the night was the revelation of Dumbledore's sexuality. Jo says Dumbledore was gay and in love with Gellert Grindelwald. JK, in response to the audience's reaction, said "If I had known this would have made you so happy, I would have told you years ago."

After going through the entire series, my question would be what's the point of revealing this morsel of information?
Does is really matter?
I always thought of him as a sort of father-mentor figure for Harry.
The anti Harry Potter activists must be having a field day with this. JK Rowling should've thought this over before revealing something like this, because it sort of sours the series for some. It seems like a sort of ploy to spark interest in the series now that it has been completed. Maybe it will make readers more wary of her future works.
Business is business.

It's the progressively fast plan of the feminization of the men in Hollywood and TV aimed specifically to the younger kids to make them fell like being a gay is normal and that gays are regular people and why not jut try to see how it is.
This kind of abomination is going to be seem more and more in movies.

Yes and it's also true that Rowlings did not have the guts to have him come out in the pages of the book and used his orientation as a scapegoat for his downfall.
