The first ones I got I just got at Wal-Mart. When I went for my first appointment she asked if I was taking any prenatal Vitamins and I told her I was but she offered to write me a prescription and now I take those. They have stool softener in them to help with normal pregnancy problems.

you can get them at department stores, but if I were you I would just wait untill your doctor can perscribe you some. I took otc prenatal vitamins for a little while and I had some pretty scary dreams and got headaches. They went away after I started taking perscription though. I really don't know if the pills had anything to do with my headaches or the dreams I was having though.

I take children's vitamins, as prenatals cause me much vomitting. (ugh) I've tried about 5 or 6 different types for pregnancy and they all come up within minutes of going down. My doctor gave my a prescription for a "Premesis" to go along with my flintstones vitamins- had extra folic acids and b vitamins to help with nausea. They helped out a TON!! I'd definitely ask for those- my doc gave me a ton of samples of that to get me through the nauseous times. =)

Prima Care One. It is a prescription prenatal vitamin, has Omega 3, and the rest of the things that your baby needs. I like it, bacause it does not make sick, like the other kinds did. It is easy to swallow.

i take 2 childrens flinstone vitamins daily. when i can that is. i have a hard time keeping the vitamins down but i try every day. you can get "prenatal vitamins" at your local pharmacy, walmart, drug store what ever. or if you have medical insurance you can get the perscribtion but i buy my own. because i cant take the ones they perscribe and they wont perscribe flinstones vitamins.

I take OneSource Prenatal. I got them at Walmart for about 8 dollars for a 3 month supply. Don't make me sick or anything!

I take the generic ones from Wal-Mart, they were about $5 for a 3 month supply and contain everything I need.
(I think they're called Prenate Elite, or something like that- they're in my car.)

As long as you aren't anemic, those kind are fine, as are Flinstones, etc.

Oh, and as someone else mentioned... they don't make me nauseated (1st trimester made me nauseated).

Mine made me sick because of my constant morning sickness. So, my OB told me to take two Flinestones childrens chewables. Good luck. 2D
