setting the scrolling bar (javascript)?

A division on a page is limited in height, but contains a regularly updated list of entries. When the list contains more entries than the "height" accepts, a scroll bar appears to the right.
How to FORCE the scroll bar to slide to the bottom, so the LAST entry is always visible (no user action)? (Must preferably work on IE7, FF, Oracle, Netscape and Safari!)

I cant chat on my pogo game because it cut off the bottom of the game. How can I correct the problem?
