Not at all. It will depend on where and when you work. For instance, if you get a PT job working weekends only, then it is not any different than a M-F job.

If you get a job working nights, then you work in lieu of watching TV or other activities.

Working PT beats going in debt.

Yes, but whether or not it is worth it will depend on your attitude and other circumstances. I worked a full-time job, a part-time job and went to college full-time. At the time, it was worth it. Now that I have kids, I wouldn't think of working two jobs unless they are both part-time and during school hours.

If you decide to get a second job, think first about what is important in your life, what are you willing to give up for the sake of the people to whom you want to give Christmas gifts. Are they worth not seeing a certain TV show for a few months? Are they worth not having as much free time? I think you will decide that they are, but then you may need to remind yourself of that during those few months.

One thing that I learned working two or three jobs: know your own limits. I found out how often I could work at my part-time job without getting too run down and told the manager/supervisor that was my limit. If I took an extra shift for someone that week, I usually got sick because of it.

Good luck.

not really if you're willing to sacrifice the time away from your family during the holidays. i've done it in christmas's past. i have worked weekends and friday night after my main job at target during the christmas holiday (about 24 hrs extra a week). the income from this job was strictly for christmas. it's going to be a bummer not being able to do it this year though. that employee discount was nice.

I think its hard just working two jobs anytime, period! 1 year I worked in candy place for xmas,to earn extra money, I thought it was fun,I brought home so much of those wonderful chocolates that we couldn't eat any for months. I should have worked at MacDonalds or Wendy's I like that food better.

It's hard but if you don't want to go in debt, it's worth it.
