First of all it's Einstein, with an "i" before the final "n" and secondly, they are both his name(s) - Albert is his first (or given) name and Einstein is his last name (or surname). His full name is Albert Einstein. So, disallowing your spelling error of his last name, you and your friend are either both right or both wrong, depending on your perspective.

Einstein's real first name was Albert. His real last name was Einstein. Hence him being notably called, Albert Einstein.
I don't think he had a middle name, there appears to be no record of one.
