After the race, Lewis Hamilton's daddy spoke to Peter Windsor on camera. I can't find a video of it.

Anyway, Anthony Hamilton said something about how Lewis beat all the other drivers, not only on track, but in terms of style, character, class and attitude! I think he said something about "respect" in there as well.

What? WTF? Is it just me, or is that an offensive thing to say to other drivers? Did anyone else see it? What do you think?

I saw a snippet of the conversation and I thought he looked bloody serious, almost angry, when he made those comments.

I meant to write:

** I first wrote: is that an offensive thing to say to other drivers?" I'll correct that now. He wasn't saying it to any driver.

To Claret:

When did I say I didn't see the interview? I saw him say those things! This is not a rumor, pal. I saw what was aired on the television channel. I just can't find a video of it to show you all.

No it's not just you. I can't believe daddy hamilton could say those. WTF man even he can't accept it. Can he even drive an f1 car? Who is he to say that his son beat the crap out of all the others? If his son won, fine. But too bad for his stupid attitude his son got karma'd.

Well, to admit that you only saw a "snippet" of the interview and you only think he said something about respect clearly demonstrates your credentials for becoming a journalist in the near future.
It's been a while since I saw someone go off half ****** for no apparent reason.
I also notice that this has only been brought up because it concerns a member of the Hamilton family.
Where were you when Vettel made the excuse of "I thought Hamilton was retiring so I sped up." Surely that kind of stupidity required your vituperative hand to make everyone aware of the facts.
Why have we not heard you complain about the fact that Ferrari ran with an illegal car in the first race but weren't punished? I bet it'd annoy you for me to mention that if they had been punished like they deserved then Hamilton would be champ.
Shít happens, get over it. You've seen one of the best seasons for a long time.
Anyway, I'm sure you should really try and find the full interview before you start writing such judgemental tirades.
Besides, supposing Anthony Hamilton was talking about Fernando Alonso then such comments about respect would certainly be justified.

Val f1 is right, you're just reading too much into it. I don't think he means any of the other drivers disrespect, he's just praising his son and trying to be positive about the whole situation. I've seen anthony hamilton being intervied a few times, he's a well spoken man who always puts things he says in the right context. If he wanted to diss any other driver, he would have made it clear.

It was but obvious for anybody to get angry after yesterdays incident. Still Hamilton Sr. should abstain from making such remarks ,especially about other drivers.
Lewis has become a Super-Star in UK but he is still a rookie.he has yet to prove himself in long run. atleast till he achieves that level he should be compared to other drivers who have been in the sport for several seasons.
whatever be the case the outcome is that Lewis is not the Champion this year.

i do no longer believe that Peter windsor and his US F1 group will make it into F1, because of the fact there is basically one empty grid area and there are a number of different communities drawn to taking it. besides the shown fact that, I agree that there is skills. the sole concern is that on account that formulation a million isn't standard interior the US, they might desire to bypass overseas to proceed of their occupation. besides the shown fact that, on account that there is ultimately going to be yet another US Grand Prix in 2012, this might replace issues significantly. F1's recognition will strengthen after that race, and so it heavily isn't so difficult for human beings to get into the sport. this happens in each and every united states - each and every time an F1 race is held, the drivers there get greater useful. desire it happens in united statesa. too.

at the end of the day it was just a proud dad singing his sons praises. i don't think he would have meant any disrespect to any of the other drivers as he knows how hard they have all worked to get where they are. as for the stoney face, it's just probably down to the fact that he (like any parent) would have loved to have seen his boy bring it home. I know i have said some things about my kids achievements and in hindsight i must have sounded quite arrogant.

I think he was saying that because he was really proud of Lewis' achievements. I don't think he actually intended to provoke the other drivers or to imply that they aren't as good as Lewis. As for him looking angry, I guess he just got emotional.

Why are they even interviewing Anthony Hamilton? Who is this guy? He is a nobody who belongs in the grand stands with the rest of the parents.

Lewis DID win the race as far as I am concerned, he had some gear selector problems with the car which he never had before for 16 of the 17 races he was in. Had he not been lampooned between Massa and Raikkonen at the start, he would have won.

Now he knows that there are no friends in F1 and he should have been in front of Raikkonen and on the inside of the track at the first corner, he would then not have had the problems he had at the second corner resulting in him going off. He is 2007 Vice Champion at least !

Well while it might have not been accurate, I could understand it when a microphone is thrust in your face and you are expected to say something without having the advantage of preparing for it.

You say that you didn't see the interview, so how do you know what was said. This is how the false rumours start pal.

You said you saw a snippet of the conversation and then you said you saw what was said. Make your mind up pal. You're not much of a reporter are you.
